ABOUT THE FILM: This absurdist comedy tells the story of Daiva, a television announcer who one day loses her job along with hundreds of colleagues. A determined and energetic woman, she is ready to do anything for television! She announces a hunger strike and moves into a trailer opposite the television buildings. Two colleagues and a bystander follow in her footsteps. They hope the protest will soon attract the attention of the whole world. Time passes, there is no sign of reporters from the BBC or CNN, and their empty stomachs growl ever louder…
Karolis Kaupinis, director of films that have won eight “Silver Cranes” awards (“Nova Lituania”), returns with a bitterly funny film about great expectations and the collision with reality. About dreams that do not come true and the determination to keep dreaming. About love and the desire for human closeness. A cast of well-known Lithuanian actors delivers memorable performances: Ineta Stasiulytė (“The Millionaire’s Inheritance”, “A Millionaire in His Own Right”, “Received Call 3”), Arvydas Dapšys (“Zero 3”, “The Train Robbery Committed by Saulius and Paulius”), Paulius Pinigis, Albinas Kėleris (the TV series “Prosecutors”, “Honour Company”), Eglė Mikulionytė and Algirdas Dainavičius. The film premiered at the Warsaw Film Festival and was also presented at the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival.
