CODA Dance School: Interactive Dance Performance “Elf Factory”

Every year, December turns homes into a stage for the anticipation of a miracle—but did you know that at the most unexpected moment, while everyone is asleep, a very different kind of factory comes to life at home? Tired of spending the whole year merely delivering presents, Santa’s elves gather in a secret “Culture Factory” and create their own chaos: pranks, games, laughter and surprises that turn homes upside down. With this performance, we want to remind children (and their parents) that Christmas is not only about peace and order, but also about daring to be mischievous, creative and cheerful. The true spirit of Christmas is born wherever there is room for laughter, play and small, gentle silliness.

About the performance: Everything in Santa’s workshop is supposed to run according to strict rules: presents counted, lists checked, elves working nonstop. But this year, a few elves decide that too much order is boring. At night, when the people in the houses are asleep, they venture out into the world and set up their own “culture factory”—a place where the most ingenious, funniest and most unexpected pranks are born. They hide on shelves, wrap themselves in toilet paper, swap shoes around, and invite children to join their fun, interactive world. Together with Tadas Jakas, an elf and crisis-management virtuoso (Klaipėda State Musical Theatre), and professional, certified movement experts from CODA Dance School, young audience members will become pranksters themselves.
