Saulius Petreikis Concert: “Dreams Like Stars”

“Dreams Like Stars” – Saulius Petreikis’s holiday tour

At the end of the year, multi-instrumentalist Saulius Petreikis and his band invite audiences to their annual concert tour across Lithuania. The programme “Dreams Like Stars” brings together original music, the sounds of traditional wind instruments from around the world, and improvisation. In Saulius’s work, musical traditions from different cultures meet the band’s contemporary sound. A focus on instrumental timbres, melody and rhythm creates music that holds both calm and motion. The live performance leaves room for the musicians to make spontaneous choices, so the pieces sound a little different at every concert.

“This tour is our annual meeting with listeners. We prepare the music and rehearse, but part of the concert comes to life only on stage: as we listen to one another and respond to the room. That living connection is what makes us want to return every year,” says Saulius Petreikis.

“Dreams Like Stars” is an evening devoted to music and listening. The concerts welcome both those familiar with Saulius’s work and those who want to hear his and the band’s music live for the first time.
