DADDY WAS A MILKMAN & AURA Dance Theatre — “ALL ABOUT LOVE”
A slow song. She stands at the edge of the hall. You long to approach, but wait, frozen, for a few more seconds. Until you gather the courage. For the first time, you are SO CLOSE. And the scent of her hair drives you crazy. The world ceases to exist for a moment.
On February 14, DADDY WAS A MILKMAN and AURA Dance Theatre bring their new performance “ALL ABOUT LOVE” to Klaipėda. Audiences in seven Lithuanian cities will be the first to see this exclusive performance.
In this performance, Daddy Was A Milkman’s songs will take on the energy of dance. Live music and AURA’s choreography will create a cohesive, cinematic stage narrative, while “Breathe In,” “Seasons,” “Gera tyloj” and other songs beloved by listeners will reveal themselves in new colours.
“All About Love” will tell stories of love at different stages of life—from first hesitant steps and exhilaration to intimacy, challenges, self-love and a more mature life together. Over the years, our relationship with familiar songs changes too: they reveal things you may not have noticed before.
DADDY WAS A MILKMAN will speak about love through songs, personal stories and conversations with the audience, while AURA will give it another language: movement.
Lithuania’s first professional contemporary dance theatre has been creating work in Kaunas for more than four decades. Today, its company includes artists from different countries around the world. “All About Love” will be choreographed by AURA choreographer ROBERT PRZYBYL together with the theatre’s dancers. Appearing on stage: Marianna Lo Coco, Susanna Maggio, Ester Bega, Victor Gil Méndez, Hector Valdovinos, Pepe Jaimes, Leandro Manzo, Otis Gilchrist Rikken, Tadas Almantas and Joe Zhu.
