DAINOTAS VARNAS WITH THE BAND “THE ROAD HOME”

Dear friends, last year we travelled around the world together in a hundred minutes, and I have to thank you once again—I could only have dreamed of companions like you. This year, I want to invite you to set off together on another musical journey, one that will be even better and more exciting. I say this with confidence because it will be entirely LITHUANIAN! Yes, this time my road leads home, and we will travel through the pages of our rich and wonderfully beautiful musical history.

This year is special for me; it has changed my whole life. Starting a family has made me feel even more firmly rooted in my homeland. And my desire to sing and share quality Lithuanian music with you is especially strong. I hope you will once again join me as companions on this new musical journey. I’m really looking forward to it.

Sincerely yours,
Dainotas Varnas

With a carefully arranged, 100-minute LITHUANIAN programme, “The Road Home”, the singer will visit no fewer than 18 cities in Lithuania. The tour begins in December 2026 and ends in January 2027.

For some, the road home means driving to their parents’ home for Christmas; for others, returning to their home district, city or country. For still others, “the road home” means a spiritual journey of self-discovery. Dainotas Varnas will lead us home through the history of Lithuanian music.

“It won’t be boring,” promises the singer, who is polishing his new LITHUANIAN programme. The very beginning of the concert will certainly surprise you. Dainotas Varnas has prepared a piece that is very well known and especially dear to him personally. And we can bet a million that you won’t guess which piece it is.

After the introduction, we will begin our musical journey in the 1960s. We will remember the greats of Lithuanian light music, Stasys Povilaitis and Antanas Čapas. Both singers are no longer with us, but the songs they performed are written in golden letters in the history of Lithuanian music.

“I had the opportunity to sing with these distinguished people. I treasure those memories and will share them with you,” says Dainotas Varnas.

As we travel through the decades, we will also encounter poet Stasys Baltakis, composer Laimis Vilkončius, the band “Studija”, singer Irena Starošaitė and many other figures who shaped the history of Lithuanian popular music. Dainotas Varnas will perform their works in his own way. We can look forward to more than one newly sparkling gem.

At last year’s concerts, “Around the World in 100 Minutes”, Dainotas Varnas demonstrated an exceptionally wide vocal range, a sensitive and original approach to music, and respect for the works he performs. He will be accompanied by a band, and the performance will use modern technologies that expand the boundaries of music. The singer also promises to draw on his unique experience of singing a cappella.

“I promise that on stage I will do something no other solo artist in Lithuania has done before,” he teased.

There will also be interesting personal stories and Dainotas Varnas’s characteristic humour, which bring the different works together into a cohesive programme. The journey to the present day will certainly fly by.

Of course, the programme will also include Dainotas Varnas’s own songs, although the singer is not yet willing to reveal the exact list. But we can already be sure of one thing: “The Road Home” will definitely be among them—the title song of the whole tour, where it all began.
