TILIDŪDA is a theatrical concert based on the best-known Lithuanian children’s songs. Now a legend, it is returning with a refreshed version following many requests from parents, and continuing its musical journey for little ones.

TILIDŪDA is a musical story created by composer Rokas Radzevičius about a boy, Mr. Jonas, who could neither play nor wanted to play the bagpipe. Offended, the bagpipe ran away from him. Dad (Rokas Radzevičius) and Mum (Aistė Smilgevičiūtė) decided to help Jonukas find the missing bagpipe, and they all set off on a journey. Along the way, they had many adventures: they saw a wolf and hares dancing, were guests at a sparrow’s feast, and dreamed a magical dream…

TILIDŪDA is a theatrical concert for children featuring the best-known Lithuanian children’s songs, including “Aš turėjau gaidį”, “Tindi rindi riuška”, “Du gaideliai” and “Žvirblio puota”. These songs have millions of views online and are an integral part of everyday life for many families with young children. Rokas Radzevičius arranged the TILIDŪDA songs, composing the music to be gentle on a young child’s ears, melodic and easy for children to remember the words. Most children know the songs by heart and happily sing them at home as well as in kindergartens and schools. The TILIDŪDA songs are not only cheerful and arranged in a lively way; they also develop young children’s speech and imagination, help shape their national identity and nurture Lithuanian culture.

Over the many years of its life, TILIDŪDA has undergone several transformations. The first Mr. Jonas was Adas, the son of singers Jurga Šeduikytė and Vidas Bareikis. He is now grown up. The second Mr. Jonas was Eivydas, the son of Aistė and Rokas Radzevičius. Last year, he too said goodbye to the role, having outgrown it. Now TILIDŪDA will have its third “Mr. Jonas”: Vincas Alksnys, who made an excellent debut last year.

Parents often ask what age children can start attending a TILIDŪDA concert, and when they become too old for it. The answer is simple: we welcome hares of all ages—from the very little ones who are not yet running around quickly to grown-up and even elderly hares, among whom TILIDŪDA has many fans. When a child outgrows TILIDŪDA, they usually tell their parents themselves. Though, hand on heart, we can confirm that some people never outgrow TILIDŪDA. We haven’t outgrown it ourselves.

Doors open 1 hour before the event starts. The event lasts 1 hour. Children under 1 year of age are admitted free of charge (if a child is over 1 year old, both the child and the accompanying adult need a ticket). No discounts apply.
