“Butterfly Circus”
A play based on the film story of the same name

This is a moving and inspiring story about people who were once displayed as curiosities—performers in a “freak show,” whom others regarded with curiosity, fear or mockery. But there is much more beneath the surface: each person’s struggle with themselves and with what they were made to believe. Sometimes all it takes is a single moment, a humiliation or a look for someone to begin doubting their worth.

This play is about the inner cages we lock ourselves in. About the fears that keep us from stepping into the light. And about the courage to break free from them.

Performed by the “Drugelis” Theatre of the Klaipėda Hope Association for the Care of People with Intellectual Disabilities and students of Klaipėda Vydūnas Gymnasium
