This is a magical and uplifting ballet performance for children, inspired by one of Hans Christian Andersen’s most beautiful fairy tales, “The Little Mermaid.” “The Little Mermaid” is a performance for the whole family about a young, spirited, desire-filled fragile being caught between the world of people and the ocean, who, guided by her dreams, longs to experience real life on land. Unfortunately, the rules of her world do not allow the element of water and an ordinary human being to meet. Despite this, the Little Mermaid makes a pact with the evil sea witch in exchange for the chance to experience life on land. She seeks to prove that love conquers all and can make the world go round.

This is a performance about moving towards a goal and pursuing an idea through action, even when it is not easy. It is a story that aims to show that every dream and every goal can be achieved only through love.

Klaipėda Ballet School, together with renowned choreographer and director Aušra Krasauskaitė, invites everyone, young and old, to dive to the very bottom of the ocean and experience one of Hans Christian Andersen’s most beautiful fairy tales, “The Little Mermaid.” The special music was composed and arranged by Kristijonas Lučinskas; costumes by Aina Zinčiukaitė; makeup by Aira Braždienė; and set design by Aistė Alksnytė and Regina Donbrauskaitė. The performance features Klaipėda Ballet School students and guest soloists Alina Jazdauskytė and Danielius Voinovas.
