We invite young audiences and their parents to “The Missing Notes”, a magical children’s performance full of music and mystery, based on a play by the distinguished Lithuanian writer and modernist poet Judita Vaičiūnaitė (1937–2001). It is a moving story about empathy, understanding emotions and true friendship, which begins with a single sweet or balloon but lasts a lifetime.
Real miracles happen in the alleys of the Old Town. Two notes, Do and Re, escape from a grand piano as they flee a frightened, angry rat bent on gnawing it to pieces. They turn into curious girls, Donata and Renata! The girls must find a way to defeat the rat and convince a boy that he wants to learn music. Will they manage to save the world of music?…
The actors will sing and invite not only the children but also their parents to join in! The catchy little songs will stay with you long after the performance, nurturing children’s creativity and love of music. Bright colours, mysterious sounds and playful shapes will awaken every child’s curiosity. During the performance, they will enter a poetic world where they learn to make friends, dream boldly and be themselves. Give your family an afternoon full of musical mysteries!
The performance includes the musical number “I Wish I Was Far Away From Here” by Andrew Wrangell.
Recommended for audiences aged 4–9 and accompanying family members.
