ALEKSANDRAS RUBINOVAS “MY FATHER”
A one-man performance based on Stanislovas Rubinovas’s memoirs
Music – Faustas Latėnas.
FOR THE FIRST TIME IN KLAIPĖDA: “My Father”!
On November 13 at 7 p.m., in this beautiful seaside city, the moving performance “My Father” by Aleksandras Rubinovas, a unique Lithuanian actor and director, will be presented for the first time in the cosy, well-equipped Theatre Hall (for just 100 lucky guests!).
Light lives in each of us, even when life has been difficult. This is a wonderful performance about the power of memory and about a person who never stops believing in the light; about how light inevitably triumphs over darkness, and how, even in the hardest situations, fate sends good people and salvation. A performance about memory, strength of spirit and the light that lives in every person. It is one of those artistic experiences you cannot miss!
“My Father” is a rare guest on the Lithuanian stage. It is much in demand abroad and has won numerous Grand Prix awards at prestigious theatre festivals!
Sometimes theatre becomes more than a performance. This evening will stay in your memory for a long time. Because goodness really is stronger than fate. It becomes a sincere conversation—quiet, heartfelt and very personal.
Aleksandras Rubinovas is an actor with an extraordinary life story. Having experienced pain and hardship, he never lost faith in goodness. This is a performance about memory, love and a person who never lost his humanity, even in the darkest times.
A. Rubinovas was born on September 17, 1956, in Vilnius. An actor, director and teacher, he has never regarded theatre as merely a profession, but as a way to speak with people about what matters most. For many years he performed at Kaunas Drama Theatre, directed more than twenty productions and made several documentaries. His work has always stood out for its distinctive honesty, attentiveness to the human soul and desire to find light even in the most difficult situations. For many years he taught acting at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, nurturing a new generation of artists who care about words, the stage and the audience as much as he does. He has received numerous prestigious theatre awards and was a laureate of the 8th International “Monocle” Theatre Festival and the “Fortuna” award.
After the performance, you can buy Stanislovas Rubinovas’s book “In the Forest and on Stage” and get Aleksandras Rubinovas’s autograph.
