Duets – Comedy Theatre / Salme Large Hall

A comedy in two acts. 4 stories, 8 roles. “Duets” is a fast-paced play in which four different couples find themselves in often comic and spicy situations. Actors Merle Palmiste and Raivo E. Tamm appear in four short stories: Blind Date, Secretary, Divorce and Wedding. We see dates full of anticipation, feelings both unrequited and returned, lively breakups, and a wedding celebration where the bride, getting married for the third time, refuses to step out of the door. The production offers recognition, laughter and the constant hope that the best is yet to come. Peter Quilter is a contemporary English playwright whose works have been translated into 30 languages and performed all over the world, including on Broadway and in the West End. Six of his plays have been staged in Estonia, including the hugely popular “Snowed In”, which was performed no fewer than 150 times at the Comedy Theatre! “Brilliant!” has been staged at both the Estonian Drama Theatre and Vanemuine, and “Duets” has also now been staged for a second time. The author has kept an eye on his play’s progress to the stage and hopes the production will enjoy a long run.
