The production is based on Noël Coward’s famous play “Blithe Spirit”—a sparkling comedy in which reality unexpectedly intertwines with the supernatural. The protagonist is a successful writer who, in search of inspiration, invites an eccentric medium to conduct a séance at his home. The innocent venture unexpectedly brings about the appearance of his deceased wife’s spirit, and the protagonist’s life turns into a succession of humorous and absurd situations.

Noël Coward’s play is full of subtle English humour, sparkling dialogue and irony about human passions, jealousy and a love that does not disappear even after death. The production combines the atmosphere of a drawing-room comedy with mystical elements, creating a colourful and engaging theatrical experience.

“Blithe Spirit” is Noël Coward’s best-known and most successful play. Its first run in 1941 reached 1,997 performances and set a national record in Britain, later surpassed only by “The Mousetrap” by Agatha Christie.
