Contra and Ilze T?lberga discuss the topic “Is There Latvian Literature Besides *The Bear-Slayer*?” Jazz music by the Henri Lay Trio. The discussion will be in Estonian.
At the Latvian birthday evening, Contra and Ilze T?lberga will talk about both older and newer Latvian literature and its translations into Estonian.
Music by the Henri Lay Trio. The Henri Lay Trio is an acoustic jazz trio, one of the most intimate ensemble forms in the genre. With only three musicians on stage and no piano or guitar, each player has more room, and their musical interaction is easier to perceive. The band comes from the Latvian city of Liep?ja, which will be a European Capital of Culture in 2027! Henri Lay, Raimonds Leja-Andersons and Reinis Zari?š have played together in many different ensembles. Their programme includes jazz standards, cool bop and bebop, as well as Henri Lay’s original contemporary jazz compositions.
Henri Lay – double bass
Raimonds Leja-Andersons – tenor saxophone
Reinis Zari?š – drums
