Treasures & Trash — Swap Day at Nordiska Akvarellmuseet

Swap your trash for someone else’s treasures—and vice versa! On 7 November 2026, we’re holding the Treasures & Trash swap day at Nordiska Akvarellmuseet. Why is swapping a good idea instead of buying new? By using second-hand items, you can reduce your environmental impact. Rather than manufacturing new things and throwing things away, recycling lets you conserve natural resources and reduce waste. This is one of many climate-smart choices that contribute to a more sustainable society.

Here’s how it works:
– Bring up to ten items you no longer use. They should be in good condition, so someone else will want to take them home. For each item you hand in, you’ll receive a swap ticket that you can exchange for something else.
– You can drop off items from one week in advance at the museum reception during regular opening hours, whether you want to take part in the swap day or simply contribute some things.
– For your first swap, you’ll also receive a day admission ticket to the museum’s exhibitions.
– Any items that do not find a new home during the swap day will be donated to a second-hand shop.

We cannot accept the following during the swap day:
– Food
– Items too large for you to carry here on your own
– Living things (plants are welcome!)
