VEEB – Safe AI Use, Risk Mitigation and Limitations (AI Act, GDPR, etc.)

Using real examples, we’ll discuss the risks that come with using AI, what the GDPR and the European Union’s AI Act require, and how you can configure your own tools to make them safer.

In the workshop, you’ll learn:

What can you share with AI? Personal data, client information, company documents and confidential information.

What do the laws require? The GDPR, the AI Act and company responsibility when using AI.

How can you configure AI more safely? We’ll take a practical look at privacy settings, data use and access permissions.

What are the risks of AI agents? What happens when AI gets access to files, email or other work tools?

How can you mitigate risks? Simple principles and practices you can put to use right away.

Who will lead the workshop?

Krete Paal – data protection, privacy and AI regulation. Krete has over 13 years of legal experience, including more than 9 years specialising in privacy. She built a data protection system at an international technology company and now leads a company working in privacy technology. Ex-Veriff, GDPR Register CEO, CIPP/E, CIPM, FIP.

Janika Mõru – practical and safe use of AI. Janika works with systems, automation and AI workflows. She’ll show how to configure AI tools in practice and which choices to make for safer use.

Marika Juusu – workshop moderator. Marika translates complex topics into plain language, connects legal requirements with everyday AI use, and leads the discussion and practical examples.

Who is it for? Entrepreneurs, managers, specialists and anyone who uses or plans to use AI in their everyday work.

Level: beginner and applied. No prior knowledge of data protection or law is required. The workshop is practical and interactive. You can ask questions and leave with a clearer understanding of how to use AI confidently, thoughtfully and responsibly. We’ll use sample data in the exercises. Participation is free.
