📅 Thursday, November 19, 5:30–7:00 p.m. What is a city like when it is a good place for a child to grow up? Are there enough playgrounds and nearby nature? Can children get around safely and independently? What if we asked children themselves what they want from their hometown? Bring the whole family to Sellon kirjasto to discuss and imagine what a city designed with children in mind could look like! At this event convened by Member of Parliament Saara Hyrkkö, experts, children and adults will explore children’s everyday wellbeing and a child-friendly city together. This is not quite an ordinary discussion: children will also have a chance to speak! Children can draw, write, build and tell us what kind of city they would like to live in. Their thoughts will be brought into the shared discussion. The event is designed to make it easy to attend with young children, too. There is no need to sit quietly in one place, and everyone can participate as much or as little as suits them. The event is free and open to all. You’re welcome to join with or without children! Let’s talk about building a city where children’s voices are heard, too. 💚
