Workshop overview
The workshop is open to beginners interested in AI as well as those who have already used it a little and want to explore new possibilities. Using simple, real-life examples, we will look at how artificial intelligence (AI) can help summarise information, find ideas and plan activities.
Main topics
• How does AI work? We will explain how AI works and what its limitations are in simple terms. We will look at common tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Copilot.
• Where can AI help? We will explore how to search for information, create text and analyse documents in everyday life or at work.
• We will create prompts and learn how to refine the results.
• Can you trust the answer? We will check facts and learn to spot fabricated information and bias.
• How can you protect data and act responsibly? We will cover personal data, confidentiality and information security.
Learning outcomes
By the end of the workshop, participants will:
• understand AI’s capabilities, limitations and risks;
• know how to use AI in everyday life or at work;
• be able to recognise fabricated facts and scam emails and fake images created using AI;
• be able to create text and images that produce a result suited to their own style.
Requirements
No previous experience using AI is required. Paid licences are not needed. Bring a laptop and a working Google account (Gmail), and make sure you can sign in before the workshop. Exercises will use fictional or public sample information, not sensitive data belonging to participants or their employers.
Trainer
Karmen Urgard teaches adults practical uses of AI in content creation and audio and video editing. She has delivered training at Tallinna Majandus- ja Teeninduskolledž on AI’s opportunities and risks, creating marketing content, planning and generating ideas.
The workshop is part of Arunädal and the Eesti.ai initiative “Kõige AI-targem rahvas”.
