Quietly, Quietly | “New Folder (4)” Festival

“Quietly, Quietly” is an intimate drama about two people and a silence that becomes unbearable. After attempting suicide, a girl named Milda chooses silence as a way to carry on living. But silence not only protects her; it also becomes a silent cry for help. During the performance, the audience enters the girl’s room—a space of memories where reality intertwines with nostalgic echoes of childhood in the 2000s: her grandmother’s voice, unfulfilled dreams, and a television that is constantly switched on… filling the uncomfortable silence opening up in the young couple’s relationship. A fragile bond develops between the girl and the boy, balanced between closeness and a complete inability to understand one another: he wants to help but does not know how, while she wants to be understood but is afraid to open up. This is a performance about the longing for closeness, and about closeness that is impossible without openness. About how difficult, but important, it is to talk.
