Malin Byström sings Strauss—and music by Tchaikovsky and Wagner

Season Artist in Residence Malin Byström is the soloist as the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra and conductor Philippe Jordan present an evening in the grand Romantic style. The concert opens with Richard Wagner’s fiery overture from Rienzi, continues with Richard Strauss’s Drei Hymnen von Friedrich Hölderlin—songs charged with both sonic richness and intimacy—and concludes after the interval with Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s Fourth Symphony, a dramatic struggle between darkness and triumph.
