Soundstorm and Horizon – with Meir Wellber & Ciobanu

When Omer Meir Wellber and pianist Daniel Ciobanu join the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, an evening unfolds where the new, the incandescent and the majestic meet. The concert opens with the world premiere of Matthew Peterson’s commissioned work—a sonic storm charged with contemporary expression. This is followed by Aram Khachaturian’s vibrant and intense piano concerto, giving Ciobanu full scope for both virtuosity and temperament. After the interval, Edward Elgar’s First Symphony unfolds its monumental arc: a journey from noble stillness to a powerful breakthrough, with horizons that continually expand.
