With Bowie in Berlin, conductor and arranger Hans Ek returns, together with singers Magnus Carlson, Moto Boy and Jennie Abrahamson, to David Bowie's iconic Berlin trilogy. Drawing on the albums Low, Heroes and Lodger, the performance creates an evocative overview of one of the most influential periods in pop history. During his years in Berlin, 1976–78, Bowie shaped a new musical expression in which pop meets experimental and art music—a sound world particularly well suited to a symphonic setting. Ten years after David Bowie's death, this music continues to speak with undiminished force. Bowie himself described these works as his musical DNA—and songs such as “Heroes” still move generation after generation.
