Divine Connection with Martin Fröst, Radiokören & Svenska Kammarorkestern

Mozart never completed his Requiem. When he died in 1791, he had written only the first eight bars of the Lacrimosa movement, and several composers throughout history have tried to finish the work. In Divine Connection, a concert concept by Matthew Swanson, Mozart’s music instead meets Arvo Pärt’s Te Deum. Led by Martin Fröst, Svenska Kammarorkestern, Radiokören and soloists bring the two works together, contrasting Mozart’s dramatic and expressive musical language with Pärt’s quiet, meditative sound world.
