The Roots of Love

Welcome to a concert that explores the borderland between the anatomy of the emotions, nature mysticism and musical ecstasy. The Baroque garden of emotions was wild and luxuriant. Music was given the fruitful task of portraying the soul’s innermost shifts and revealing the heart’s flora. Here, earthly passion and heavenly devotion meet in arias where love blossoms in triumphant splendour, only to become entangled in grief and loss the next moment. Running through the concert is a thread of contemporary Finnish poetry, whose timeless longing is given voice by actress Marika Lagercrantz.
