The Addams Family

The hit musical The Addams Family arrives at Kuopion kaupunginteatteri in autumn 2026! Opening night: 5 September 2026. Welcome to the Addams family, where strange is admirable, black is the new black, and love is heartwarmingly weird! When the family’s daughter, Wednesday Addams, falls in love with a perfectly ordinary boy, Lucas Beineke, the whole Addams family must face its greatest fear: “normal” life. Wednesday invites Lucas and his parents to dinner to meet her family. To keep the meeting from going straight to the grave, the Addamses must do something unheard of: try to act like a normal family. Will these two families find themselves heading for a storybook wedding or a complete disaster as they get closer? The musical comedy The Addams Family shows how even the dead serious can be funny, and encourages you to be boldly yourself. The musical combines dark humour, lively music and spectacular dance numbers in a way that will make you laugh and move you. The show is full of cartoonish, exuberant and, above all, lovable characters. The Addams Family musical premiered on Broadway in 2010. The story is based on the Addams family characters created by Charles Addams, who first appeared in cartoons in The New Yorker in the 1930s. Since then, the family has conquered television, film and stages around the world.
