Maaja Hage’s Jewellery Exhibition “A Shower of Glass Beads”

From 7 to 30 November 2026, Maaja Hage’s jewellery exhibition “A Shower of Glass Beads” will be on display in the first-floor gallery of Pärnu Central Library. Maaja Hage is an award-winning mother-tongue teacher in the city of Pärnu. She has authored several school textbooks and two poetry collections, and a novel is forthcoming. She wrote a history of Pärnu 1st Secondary School covering the years 1953–1990. Art, literature and music have been lifelong hobbies. She began pursuing jewellery-making more seriously seven years ago. In 2024, Hage’s jewellery exhibition “A Symbiosis of Old and New” was on view at Pärnu Central Library. For her second solo exhibition, “A Shower of Glass Beads,” Maaja Hage presents an array of brooches, pins and necklaces woven from glass beads in different sizes and colours. The exhibition’s formal opening will take place on 7 November in the library’s first-floor gallery and main hall. The artist will briefly talk about her creative journey and show earlier works; there will be a jewellery demonstration, and a surprise is planned.
