Beyond the Release: Artist Branding, Music Discovery and Release Planning

Making good music is one thing, but getting people to notice it is another. Huge amounts of new music are released every day, so you need a clear identity, the right audience and a plan to bring it all together. 💡 In this two-hour online workshop on 25 November, Corina Vîlcu and Almud will show you how to build an artist identity, find your place in the music market and promote a release without spending time and money on things that don’t deliver the desired results. The workshop will be held in English. 📦

Workshop topics:

Artist branding and positioning — Corina will explain how to define what sets an artist apart, create a clear identity and turn it into a story people can relate to.

Getting onto playlists independently — how to find playlists that are a genuine fit for your music; how to approach curators; and what to consider when paying for promotion, including on platforms such as SubmitHub.

Release planning and music discovery — the role of content creation and digital advertising in reaching new listeners.

The workshop includes practical examples and an exercise that will leave you with a simple plan for successfully releasing your next track. 👥

Workshop leaders:

Corina Vîlcu has worked in the music industry for more than 17 years, in both radio and record labels, and has worked in artist marketing, leading various campaigns and release strategies. Today, through Magheru 9 Media, she works directly with artists, helping them make better decisions about positioning, marketing and promotion.

Almud is a DJ and producer whose work spans music production and release promotion. Alongside her own music, she brings a practical perspective on pitching music to playlists and music discovery — how to find suitable curators and work with platforms such as SubmitHub.
