Marcus Berggren “Finds Home”

A cheerful world of absurd everyday humor

If you blinked, you may have missed that he had stepped away from stand-up. But now the acclaimed and fearless comedian Marcus Berggren is on his way back to the stand-up stage. His newly written show, “Marcus Berggren hittar hem” (“Marcus Berggren Finds Home”), premiered at Lisebergsteatern in Gothenburg on Thursday, 6 March 2026.

The decision to start again came suddenly:

“I was sitting on a tram one evening and thought of a really funny joke. I told it to a stranger, who laughed so hard his false teeth nearly flew out. Then he said, ‘You should be a comedian.’ And I thought, ‘Yeah, I bloody well should.’”

When Marcus Berggren returns to the stand-up stage with his new show “Marcus Berggren hittar hem”, the contents list reads: 75 minutes of rapid-fire fun. A chance to leave your worries in the foyer and step into Marcus’s cheerful world of absurd everyday humor.

The show is about one simple thing: moving back home. And one difficult thing: finding home. And all the comical missteps along the way. Marcus also brings a guitar, but no inhibitions. Plus a poem about someone called Göran.

“You have to go away to come home, and now I’m home,” says Marcus.

Marcus pieced together all the loose parts of himself and put together a show in which the audience can laugh at how he, like a lost cocker spaniel in reading glasses, tries to find his way home.

“I used to think you could only be one thing, too, but why should that be the case? Everyone has different sides. We’re not black and white; everyone can be their own scruffy little rainbow.”

But is this your last stand-up show?

“No, it’s my first.”

Marcus Berggren “Hittar Hem” premiered at Lisebergsteatern in Gothenburg on 6 March 2026. The show lasts approximately 75 minutes, with no interval. No age limit, but recommended for ages 15 and up.
