Film festival with two film screenings and dinner

You are warmly welcome to Hjo Filmstudio’s Mini Film Festival on Saturday, 21 November. Two films will be shown at Biografen Park in Hjo: Vermiglio (2024) and Amrum (2025). In keeping with Hjo Filmstudio’s mini film festival tradition, a delicious meal is served between the two screenings! Book your ticket now.

Programme

17:00 — Vermiglio, a family chronicle from the Alps, Switzerland and Italy, 2024

It is 1944. The war hangs like a menacing shadow over the Italian mountain village of Vermiglio. Pietro, who has fled the horrors of war, is helped by the village teacher and his family. Over the four seasons marking the end of the Second World War, strong feelings develop between Pietro and Lucia, the teacher’s eldest daughter. This leads to a wedding and an unexpected surprise. While the world recovers from its tragedy, the teacher’s family faces one of its own.

Director: Maura Delpero

19:05 — Food and drink at Bryggan

Goulash soup with good bread or mushroom risotto (vegetarian). Both options include a glass of beer or wine, or a non-alcoholic alternative.

20:30 — Amrum, Germany, 2025

On the wind-swept, breathtakingly beautiful island of Amrum, 12-year-old Nanning, a member of the Hitler Youth, takes care of his mother during the final days of the Second World War in the spring of 1945. As the world is engulfed in flames, he struggles to keep his family alive. But when peace finally breaks the silence, everything changes. For then an enemy more dangerous than war itself is revealed—one that has been closer than Nanning ever suspected.

Director: Fatih Akin
