Neighbourhood Evening: The Bible for Better and Worse

An evening about the new translation of the New Testament. Welcome to Park at Kulturkvarteret on 19 November at 6:30 pm to hear theologian and author Leif Carlsson lecture on the Bible for better and worse. This autumn, Sweden received a new translation of the New Testament. It is the first in 25 years, and comes 500 years after the New Testament was first translated into Swedish. With more modern language and new research into the source text, many well-known passages have taken on a different tone. This Neighbourhood Evening is organised in collaboration between Hjo City Library, Studieförbundet Vuxenskolan and Hjo Ecumenical Council (Church of Sweden: Hjo Parish, Equmeniakyrkan, Hjo Pentecostal Church).

About the event: On Thursday evenings, you are welcome to a meeting place at Kulturkvarteret featuring talks on a variety of topics. The Neighbourhood Evenings are organised by Kulturkvarteret in collaboration with Studieförbundet Vuxenskolan. The evenings are open to everyone and participation is free.
