About Hjo Water Cure Establishment

Hjo Water Cure Establishment opened in 1878. A large bathing park was laid out, and in the years that followed several villas with guest rooms were built for visitors to the spa. Among other treatments, guests were prescribed natural and artificial mineral waters, mud baths, tar baths and electrical treatments. But a visit to the spa did not mean nothing but hardship. Guests went on excursions or relaxed in the Social Salon. If they weren’t strolling in the bathing park, perhaps they were playing lawn tennis with willing opponents. At the Bellevue bathing restaurant, they enjoyed fine three-course dinners and the view.
