About Hjo Water-Cure Establishment

Hjo Water-Cure Establishment opened in 1878. A large bathing park was laid out, and in the following years several villas with guest rooms were built for visitors to the spa. Among other treatments, guests were prescribed natural and artificial health waters, mud baths, tar baths and electrical treatments.

But a visit to the establishment was not all about giving things up. Guests went on excursions or relaxed in the Society Salon. If they were not strolling through the bathing park, they might play lawn tennis with a few willing opponents. At the Bellevue bathhouse restaurant, they enjoyed delicious three-course dinners and the view.
