Questions about taboos and norms surrounding the cleanliness of our bodies. Where is the line between what we consider clean and dirty? What does clean and fresh mean to you? In the exhibition “Clean Shit – From Filthy Sweden to Clean Girl,” Mölndals stadsmuseum asks questions about how we view bodily dirt and cleanliness, and about taboos and norms, habits and traditions. The exhibition starts in the past, arrives in the present and looks towards the future. What has our relationship with our bodies and hygiene been like, and how has it changed over time? How many products do we really need to keep ourselves clean—and how did we get to where we are today? Welcome to our world of sanitary pads, toilets, toothbrushes, bidets, bacteria, hand sanitiser and skincare routines!
