Pure Filth – From Lortsverige to Clean Girl

Questions about taboos and norms surrounding our bodily cleanliness. Where is the line between what we experience as dirty and clean? What does clean and fresh mean to you? In the exhibition “Pure Filth – From Lortsverige to Clean Girl,” Mölndals stadsmuseum asks questions about how we view dirt and cleanliness of the body, and about taboos, norms, habits and traditions. The exhibition starts with history, arrives in the present and looks towards the future. What has our relationship with the body and hygiene been like, and how has it changed over time? How many products do we really need to keep ourselves clean—and how did we get to where we are today? Welcome to our world of sanitary pads, toilet seats, toothbrushes, bidets, bacteria, hand sanitiser and skincare routines!
