Pure Dirt – From Lortsverige to Clean Girl

Questions about taboos and norms surrounding bodily cleanliness. Where is the line between what we consider dirty and clean? What does clean and fresh mean to you? In the exhibition “Pure Dirt – From Lortsverige to Clean Girl,” Mölndals stadsmuseum asks questions about how we view dirt and cleanliness on the body, as well as taboos, norms, habits and traditions. The exhibition takes its starting point in history, arrives in the present and looks towards the future. What has our relationship with the body and hygiene been like, and how has it changed over time? How many products do we really need to keep ourselves clean—and how did we end up where we are today?
