Vårgårda Reading Festival

Five days focused on literature! The festival opens on Wednesday evening with a concert at Kulturen. On Friday evening, an after-work event with conversation and cooking will be held at Mathias Kök & Rum. On Saturday, author talks will take place at Vårgårda Library with authors including Ruth Kvarnström-Jones, Tareq Taylor, Sara Sommerfeld and Christoffer Carlsson.

Wednesday 11 November, 18:30 — Opening of Vårgårda Reading Festival at Kulturen. Jonatan Bengtsson with friends. The concert is free, but tickets must be booked via tickster.se.

Friday 13 November, 17:00 — After-work with Emma Hamberg, Christoffer Holst, Philip Birk and Pekka Heino. Booking opens on 23 September. Venue: Mathias Kök & Rum.

Saturday 14 November, 10:00–17:30 — Author talks at Vårgårda Library.
10:00–10:40 — Is Everything I Believed About Becoming a Mother a Lie? Sara Sommerfeld in conversation with Pekka Heino.
10:50–11:30 — The Sea, Nature and Everything in Between. Carina Karlsson and Tore Hagman in conversation with Yukiko Duke.
11:40–12:20 — Christmas, Glorious Christmas. Jenny Fagerlund and Malin Sturesson in conversation with Christoffer Holst.
12:20–13:15 — Lunch break.
13:15–14:00 — Food and Love. Tareq Taylor in conversation with Pekka Heino.
14:00–14:30 — Coffee break with Tareq’s baked treats.
14:30–15:10 — The Sisters at Sophiahemmet. Ruth Kvarnström-Jones in conversation with Pekka Heino.

Sunday 15 November, 10:00–11:15 — Literary service at Vårgårda Equmeniakyrka. The Happiest Game. What our fleeting existence teaches us about life. Björn Wiman in conversation with Robert Tjernberg.
