Sirât — Tuesday 15 September
A man and his son arrive at a rave deep in the mountains of southern Morocco. They are looking for Mar — daughter and sister — who disappeared several months ago at one of these endless, sleepless parties. Surrounded by electronic music and a raw, unfamiliar sense of freedom, they hand out her photo again and again. Hope fades, but they press on, following a group of ravers heading for one last party in the desert. As they venture deeper into the scorching wilderness, they are forced to confront their own limits. (Director: Oliver Laxe, Spain, France 2025, 114 min)

Sound of Falling — Tuesday 6 October
Four generations of women spend their summers on a farm in northeastern Germany. Separated by time, they never meet, yet they are connected. Like a novel, Mascha Schilinski’s masterful, award-winning Sound of Falling weaves together these women’s circumstances, joys and sorrows. In the background, shadows fall from Germany’s turbulent history. Sound of Falling was Germany’s Oscar entry and won the prestigious Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival. (Director: Mascha Schilinski, Germany, 2025, 155 min)

The Dictator’s Cake — Tuesday 17 November
As people struggle to survive under sanctions in Saddam Hussein’s Iraq, nine-year-old Lamia does her best to gather all the ingredients for a cake. The cake is meant to celebrate Saddam Hussein’s birthday, and if she fails, there will be consequences. The Dictator’s Cake is Hasan Hadi’s debut film and the first Iraqi film ever shown at the Cannes Film Festival. The drama became one of the festival’s major talking points and surprises: it won the Audience Award and was also named Best Debut Film at the 2025 Stockholm Film Festival. (Director: Hasan Hadi, Iraq, USA, Qatar, 2025, 102 min)

Romería — Tuesday 15 December
Marina, 18, travels to Vigo on Spain’s Atlantic coast to meet the family she has never known. The decision her family must make is crucial to her future. But Marina’s arrival brings memories of a past the family has long tried to forget back to life. Guided by her late mother’s diaries, Marina begins to piece together the often contradictory memories of people she barely remembers. Golden Bear winner Carla Simón concludes her family trilogy (Summer 1993, A Thief’s Daughter) with another heartfelt and captivating portrait of a family’s many stories and bonds. (Director: Carla Simón, Spain, Germany, 2025, 114 min)
