Magical singing, breathtaking performance poetry and uplifting rock at Pumphuset in Borås. Welcome to an evening where Borås band Mudfish invite artists they love. It will be an evening featuring a soulful Eva Cassidy show, breathtaking performance poetry and Mudfish’s energetic rock! Pumphuset opens at 7:00 pm. Light meals are served before the entertainment begins. The bar is open throughout the evening. A lovely opportunity to get together in the November darkness! Bring old friends and meet new ones.
On stage:
• Olle Svalander
A performance poet takes you to new worlds and back again. You may encounter Stone Age boys with ADHD, bears from lower secondary school and woodlice. But above all, you’ll meet a person trying through language to understand life and why things turned out as they did. Laughter and tears mingle with breathtaking rhymes and profound perspectives on life. Olle Svalander is an author, columnist and performance poet who grew up in Frufällan outside Borås. He has several times placed among the top competitors at the Swedish Poetry Slam Championships.
• Märta Fransson (vocals) and John Sarafian (guitar)
Experience a warm, atmospheric tribute to Eva Cassidy—the voice that has touched a whole world. A musical concert filled with heartfelt interpretations of classics such as “Fields of Gold,” “Over the Rainbow” and “Songbird.” An intimate, emotional and memorable concert that leaves no one untouched, with the music at its centre.
• Mudfish
“Mudfish are finally current with an EP release on 2 October. They have spread joy and warmth from the stage for decades! If pressed, Mudfish say they want to call their racket pop ‘rhythm n pop soulrock with a little glam punk on top.’ In their own way, Mudfish have constantly searched for the groove and the expression, and for a connection with the audience—and found something of their own. The presence is immediate, and the audience is welcomed into Mudfish’s swinging racket. Harmonica and bass-driven music, piano, organ and horns. Mudfish’s long life is reflected in music drawing on the 70s, 80s and 90s, blended with songs rooted in the present and looking outward in a way meant to give courage and hope. Experienced youngsters who together represent centuries of rock-band incidents and pop happenings—drums, bass, guitars, keyboard, harmonica and vocals. Encouraging and comforting. Five men on stage. Noise and energy! ‘The dream is for the audience to be bigger and happier when we leave the stage than when we came on,’ says singer Joakim Lövgren.”
Ulf Svedberg, drums
Johan Novenius, bass and vocals
Anders Nilsson, keyboard and vocals
Åke Strömberg, guitar and vocals
Joakim Lövgren, vocals and harmonica
Mats Svedberg, electric guitar de luxe
