Offline Sessions

Put away your phone and computer. Come as you are; create something, or don’t. The focus of these events is being offline. Things you could do include reading, writing, crocheting, knitting, meditating, sketching, doing puzzles, and more. Simply bring whatever you need! At each session, there will also be an optional activity for which WIP provides the materials. No screens are allowed, and whatever you do must not disturb others—for example, musical instruments are not permitted. Calm music will be playing in the background at the venue. When you arrive, you’ll hand your phone to WIP to be stored in a phone hotel, and you’ll get it back when you leave.

At Offline Sessions, you don’t have to achieve anything or be creative in the “right” way. You just need to be here, do something cosy if you feel like it, and give your thoughts a little more room.

On Wednesday, November 25, the optional activity will be making postcards for someone you hold dear: yourself, a friend, a family member, or a stranger. We’ll paint, make collages, and write; everything you need will be provided. We’ll spend the evening thinking about memories, relationships, and the things we hold dear. If you like, we at WiP will post the postcards for you—send a love letter when the world is grey.

19:00–20:00 Be offline with others; during this time, you can choose whether or not you want to be quiet.
