Sashiko and Decorative Mending with Textilbiblioteket

Discover how you can mend and renew your clothes and textiles at the same time! In this workshop, you’ll try out different techniques for visible and decorative mending. Mending doesn’t have to mean hiding holes and wear. With visible mending, you can instead create personal details and give your textiles a new look. During the workshop, you’ll explore different techniques and try decorative mending at your own pace.

Practical information
Tools, materials and examples are provided. You can also find inspiration in the accompanying “Textilbiblioteket” exhibition. Feel free to bring a garment or textile of your own that you’d like to mend or renew. The workshop is offered on two occasions with the same content. You can attend one or both. For adults and children aged 6 and over when accompanied by an adult. No advance registration is required, but places are limited, so please arrive in good time.

RE:JUL
This event is part of RE:JUL, which runs from 13 November to 13 December. You can take part in workshops focused on creating, renewing, mending and transforming textiles, or join guided tours, lectures and clothing swaps. Everything is free and open to everyone.
