MYCKET: Live the Legend

Experience the installation Live the Legend, the result of an artistic site analysis of Kungsparken by MYCKET, an art, design and architecture group. The former restaurant pavilion, which also served as a casino, is a place bearing an abundance of stories that haunt our time: an entertainment venue, a monastery, a burial ground, an Arctic sea, sediment of snails and mussels, visited by those who crawl, swim, climb, fly and dance.

The MYCKET collective was founded in 2012 by designers, architects and artists Mariana Alves Silva, Dr. Katarina Bonnevier and Thérèse Kristiansson. They have approached the site as an ecotone (a botanical term describing the species-rich space where two plant communities meet), studied in particular for its response to climate change. As part of this exploration, a monumental artistic installation is being created inside Kungsparken, using materials with a past and a future, painting and animation.

MYCKET works from a range of perspectives, including queer, feminist, class, anti-racist and more-than-human perspectives. Their work has generated a broad range of outcomes: large-scale theatre productions, permanent public spaces, costumes, artworks, exhibitions, animations, performances, writing and theory, education and lectures.

Live the Legend is the third chapter in The Spell of New, where the multilayered history of the site and the art museum of the future are at the centre of newly produced artworks by local and international artists.
