LUX AETERNA: Byzantine Chants and Gregorian Chant – ARTOS Choir

LUX AETERNA: Ancient chants of East and West

The Byzantine Choir “ARTOS” of the Ecumenical Patriarchate will present its “LUX AETERNA” programme for the first time, inviting audiences to discover two of the most influential traditions of sacred singing—Byzantine and Gregorian chant—in the distinctive setting of Kauno evangelikų liuteronų bažnyčia.

Ancient hymns that once echoed through the grand basilicas of Constantinople and the monasteries of Western Europe will come to life again. In its carefully prepared programme, “ARTOS” presents chants and sacred melodies preserved for centuries, revealing a living musical heritage that has crossed borders, cultures and eras for more than a thousand years.

This music captivates not only through its historical significance—it also has a special power. In the pure sound of the human voice and ancient melodies, listeners can find a rare sense of inner peace, deep contemplation and spiritual clarity.

LUX AETERNA is more than a concert. It is an opportunity to step away from the noise of everyday life, if only briefly, and enter a world of beauty, contemplation and spiritual depth. Join us for an unforgettable evening where the ancient traditions of Europe meet in harmony. Discover the timeless beauty of “Lux Aeterna”.
