Christmas Peace Proclamation at Puijo

The traditional Christmas Eve proclamation of Christmas peace will take place at the top of Puijo on 24 December 2026, starting at 13:00. On Christmas Eve, all restaurants at Puijo will also be open, offering Christmas dining from the porridge breakfast at Puijo Maja to an afternoon Christmas meal and the Christmas Eve festive menu at Puijo Tower Restaurant. At the Tower Café, you can enjoy Puijo’s famous indulgent hot chocolate and admire the beautiful city of Kuopio from above.

How to get to Puijo on Christmas Eve?

By Puijo chairlift, open 12:00–16:00 (free of charge)

On foot, from the baseball stadium (Puijonlaaksontie 14), or via the stairs and trails from Puijo Ski Stadium (Suurmäentie 85)

By taxi (parking for passenger cars is limited; see below)

There is very limited parking at the summit of Puijo, and after 11:00 only restaurant guests may drive up. During the Christmas peace proclamation, from 12:30 to 14:00, cars cannot enter the courtyard. Traffic control will be in place in the area. Drivers are asked to park either in the lower car park, in the gravel parking area by the road to Elämystila Konttila, or in the car park by the lower station of the chairlift at Puijo Ski Stadium.
