Vesta x UMO Helsinki Jazz Orchestra

The songs of Vesta, a pop trailblazer praised by critics, take on new dimensions with expansive jazz arrangements in joint concerts with UMO Helsinki Jazz Orchestra! The sensitivity of indie pop meets the power of a big band in two special concerts, as Vesta’s best-loved songs are arranged for a large, 18-piece jazz orchestra. The conductor is Ville Vannemaa, UMO Helsinki Jazz Orchestra’s new chief conductor.

Vesta is one of the most significant singer-songwriters and musical artists of the younger generation. She is known for her perceptive, socially engaged lyrics and emotionally stirring compositions. She reached the top tier of Finnish pop no later than with her debut album, Lohtulauseita, in 2018. At the time, Helsingin Sanomat wrote that Vesta was “the best thing Finnish mainstream pop has to offer right now”. On the 2025 season of Vain Elämää, the artist won Finns’ hearts with moving and insightful versions of her fellow artists’ songs. Vesta will release her next album, Suomi soimaan, in May 2026. Over the course of her career, this charismatic artist has received several awards, including the Emma Award for Newcomer of the Year.
