Victor and Adele’s Birthday

It’s time to celebrate! Father’s Day at the Kuopio Museum of Old Kuopio takes place under the theme of Victor and Adele’s birthday.

10:30–11:00: Visiting-card workshop (workshop fee €2/photo)
12:00: Guided tour of the Victor & Adele exhibition
13:00: “May Good Luck Kick You” — a lecture-recital on Finnish congratulatory songs, by Jaana Turunen, Master of Music
13:30–14:00: Visiting-card workshop (workshop fee €2/photo)

At the visiting-card workshop, open in the morning and afternoon, you can have your photo taken with an instant camera in the Victor & Adele exhibition. If you wish, you can make the photo into a visiting card. Visiting cards were among the most popular products of the Barsokevitsch photography studio, and were given to family members, acquaintances and friends. The workshop fee of €2 per photo is paid at the museum’s ticket desk.

On the guided tour beginning at 12:00, you’ll explore Victor and Adele Barsokevitsch’s time and lives through objects that belonged to the couple. The tour also introduces the Barsokevitsch photography studio and the couple’s other activities in Kuopio.

In “May Good Luck Kick You,” a lecture-recital, Jaana Turunen, Master of Music, sings and talks about the tradition of congratulatory songs. The lecture-recital lasts approximately 20–30 minutes.

The event day is a cultural taster event at the Kuopio Museum of Old Kuopio. Admission is free for everyone all day. The museum is open from 10:00 to 15:00.
