Nils Holgersson’s Wonderful Journey

The boy Nils, transformed to the size of a thumb, travels on the back of his tame goose, Martti, among a flock of wild geese across Sweden. Along the way, Nils befriends the geese and learns to respect animals and the beautiful nature around him. Swedish author Selma Lagerlöf (1858–1940) originally intended this book as a schoolbook for Swedish children, but over the years it has become a fairy-tale classic loved by generations.
