KIVI is Johannes Korpijaakko’s acclaimed and award-winning monologue performance about Aleksis Kivi’s final 24 hours. In the turmoil of that day, the broken national humorist takes stock of his life and his fate as a writer. The performance is a tribute to Kivi’s poetry and vitality, and to a cornerstone of Finnish theatre and literature. Hannu Mäkelä’s novel has been adapted for the stage and directed by Samuli Reunanen. Running time: 1 hour 30 minutes. Free admission. Seats are filled in order of arrival.
