Viimsi Village Meeting and Village Elder Election

On 3 December, from 17:30 to 19:00, a general meeting of Viimsi village will be held in the lobby of Viimsi Rural Municipality Government (main entrance, Nelgi tee 1, Viimsi village). The meeting agenda is the election of the village elder. Voting for the village elder is possible via mobile app or by paper ballot at the meeting: from 24 to 28 November, you can cast your vote through the mobile app, and you cannot change your choice later by voting on paper; at the general meeting on 3 December, residents of Viimsi village who did not use the electronic voting option may vote by paper ballot. Residents aged at least 16 whose place of residence, according to the Population Register, is Viimsi village may attend the meeting and vote. The list of residents eligible to vote will be taken from the Population Register on 23 November, so you must register as a resident by 22 November at the latest. Anyone wishing to stand for election as village elder must submit written consent to the municipal government by 15 November at the latest. Consent may be sent by email to info@viimsi.ee or delivered to Viimsi Rural Municipality Government (Nelgi tee 1). A candidate for village elder may be an adult resident of Viimsi village who meets the requirements set out in the statutes of Viimsi Rural Municipality and has also been registered in the Population Register as residing in Viimsi village for at least one year before registering as a candidate. Instructions for electronic voting and information about registered candidates will be shared from 17 November through the municipality’s communication channels and the election website viimsi.ee/kulavanemate-valimised.
