The Great Flood

“The Great Flood” is an everyday-life comedy based on études, examining our most mundane—and at the same time greatest—concerns. How do you create a home of your own that feels just right, and how do you keep from letting your dreams go down the drain with the bathwater as you drown in everyday life?

Director Priit Võigemast: “We all start out full of hope. We dream of love, happiness, careers, children and the peace that will eventually come, but then, to our own surprise, we find ourselves buried beneath a huge layer of everyday life. We struggle for our lives to somehow stay afloat and forget what it was all about in the first place. Some cope better than others; some break. Of course, that sounds tragic, but I also see comic potential in it. In this production, we have looked for everyday moments that feel familiar to us. We have compressed and stretched them, mixed them together and amplified them. We have tried to get to the bottom of why all this mundane stuff is so overwhelming.”
