“Scenes and Verses” is a concert programme bringing together six works in which lively, conversational episodes alternate with expansive soundscapes. At its centre is one of the best-known works in the clarinet, viola and piano repertoire, Kurtág’s “Hommage à R. Sch.” — a work of exceptional emotional depth and expressive range that takes listeners from imagining dancers’ whirling pirouettes to the mood of a sombre funeral march. Track3 concludes the concert with two world premieres. Both works explore distinctive timbres and combinations of sounds, offering listeners plenty of dramatic surprises. Read more
