The author will introduce the scorebook “Riburada. Üherealine lõõtspill Eestis” with a historical overview, along with the recording made from material in the book. The publication continues Aita Teigar’s research, completed at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, “Üherealine lõõtspill, selle muusika ja mängustiil Eestis”. The book covers the history of the one-row accordion, players’ recollections, and sheet-music transcriptions of tunes selected by the author. The presenter recorded historical folk music from the 19th century on an old one-row accordion for the CD album. At the concert, pieces from the album will be performed live, accompanied by explanations about the instrument and its repertoire, as well as accounts of former players’ recollections. The publication of the book and album was supported by the Cultural Endowment of Estonia.
